Which Bulb for Your Mosaic Lamp? The Complete E14 Guide

Your mosaic lamp has arrived — now which bulb goes in it? The choice matters more than you'd think: the right bulb makes the colored glass glow richly, the wrong one makes it look pale. Here's everything you need to know.

All our table lamps use the standard E14 fitting (the “small” screw fitting, common across Europe). You'll find E14 bulbs at any supermarket, hardware store, or online. Our 3-globe lamps take three E14 bulbs — one per globe.

This is the single most important tip. Colored mosaic glass looks its best with warm white light, around 2700K. Cool white or daylight bulbs (4000K+) wash out the colors and make the glow feel clinical. Look for “warm white” or “extra warm white” on the packaging.

Choose LED over old-fashioned incandescent bulbs. LEDs barely produce heat (kinder to the lamp and safer on a nightstand), use a fraction of the energy, and last for years. A 4–5W LED (roughly equal to 40W old-style) is plenty for a mosaic table lamp — the goal is atmosphere, not reading-room brightness.

Our lamps work with dimmable LED bulbs. Combine a dimmable E14 LED with a plug-in dimmer and you can tune the glow from “subtle evening accent” to “full mosaic display.” Make sure both the bulb and the dimmer are marked dimmable — a non-dimmable LED on a dimmer will flicker.
